Ribbons of Scarlet: A Novel of the French Revolution’s Women

I was hesitant to read a novel written by six different authors, I wasn’t sure who the plot would flow, but I found myself really enjoying this novel. I enjoyed it so much that I took my time reading it, I wanted to soak in all the details.

I’ve never really read anything about the French Revolution. This novel opened my eyes to the role that women played in this crucial time in history. I loved the characters of Sophie Condorcet and Manon Roland. Both were educated and politically active in a time when that was not the norm for women.

Feminism is at the heart of this novel and gives the reader an idea of just how long women had to fight for equality. I definitely would recommend this novel.
